This collection contains a series of short pieces set to the word “Alleluia”. A unifying principle in this work is the avoidance of seventh chords as consonant units. On the other hand, fourths and one six-four chords are frequently employed as consonances. Some of the pieces are strictly polyphonic, while others are more homophonic in style. Piano reductions are included at the end. Ranges are as follows: Bass e2–a3, Tenor b2–e4, Alto g3–c5, Soprano b3–f5.
